Welcome to Protocols: The TAPA PA Protocol Preparation System

TAPA is pleased to offer the PA Protocol Tool. Designed to assist members in complying with state rules and regulations, this tool was researched and created by experienced PAs who have served on Tennessee’s regulatory body for PA practice.

According to section 0880-03-.10 (1) of the Rules of the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners’ Committee on Physician Assistants,

"The range of services which may be provided by a physician assistant shall be set forth in a written protocol, jointly developed and signed by the physician assistant and the supervising physician and maintained at the physician assistant's practice location."
PAs practicing without a written protocol could be found in violation of this rule.

PAs across the state are encouraged to use this template to update their existing protocols. Those newly entering the PA profession will find this tool extremely helpful in setting up their practices.

If you have already created your Protocol Account and are returning to continue editing the account, please login using the blue box at right to access your Protocol Account.
